pewtermoonsilver designs in stained glass

The process used to make pewtermoonsilver glass is known as the copper foil technique, and is thought to have been introduced in the USA by Louis Comfort Tiffany, the son of a New York jeweller, in the early 1900s. It differs from the older traditional technique of leaded glass, as each piece of glass is hand-cut, smoothed, washed & edged with copper foil. Once put together like a jigsaw to create the design, the glass is skillfully soldered together

This technique allows far more intricacy than leaded glass, and is ideal for suncatchers, hanging panels, and small window panels for doors. Each finished piece is hand polished to give the trademark ‘pewtermoonsilver’ silver sparkle

The highest quality materials are always used, and glass is aften selected that contains bubbles and other inclusions as these give extra light and texture to the finished piece

All ‘pewtermoonsilver’ glass is created using my own original designs, often with a seasonal feel and inspired by nature, bringing colour & light into the home to enhance your mood & lift the spirits
